Hey guys! I am excited to share this post with you all about the sample orders I got from Kama Ayurveda.
By now you would know that I am a sucker for natural products that are free from harsh chemicals. Kama Ayurveda is one of my favorite brand.
So one fine day I was visiting their website not sure why. I am saying this because if I have to buy their products online then I go to Amazon else I prefer visiting their store.
Luckily I noticed that I can order their samples as well, which I thought was a great idea considering we want to try new things but full size purchase doesn’t seem like a good idea every time.
I also want to tell you that these samples are for free. However you do have to pay for the shipping cost which is 150 bucks (INR). Also, you can order three samples at a time.
I really liked this idea and I decided to try three of their products on which I was keeping an eye for quite a while. It was their night cream, sunscreen and extra virgin coconut oil.
I do want to mention that if you want to order your samples, head over to the Kama Ayurveda Website and register. Once registered you can pick three samples and place the order after paying 150 INR shipping cost. I am not sure if they ship outside of India or not. Also, I guess the price may vary for different locations. Let me know when you order one in the comments section below.
Now I would want to talk about the samples so without any further delay, let’s begin.
The tester comes in a 8 grams of tube packaging. Honestly these samples are so tiny and cute that I don’t want them to end ever. I know bizarre it is!
The ingredient list is fairly simple as it contains coconut milk, vetiver, saffron, cardamom, goat’s milk, sesame oil, Indian madder and provitamin B5.
Out of this list, I wondered what is Vetiver. I googled and I found that is it an english and fancy name of “Khus”.
We all know the freshness in “Khus” and how it is used in Indian perfumes known as “Itr”. It has a very refreshing, earthy and musky fragrance.
However “khus” fragrance doesn’t seem to dominate this cream. To be honest the fragrance of the product is pleasant and not very overpowering.
Another special ingredient is goat’s milk which is rich in Alpha Hydroxy acids, Vitamin A, B6, B12, C, D and E. Goat’s milk have great benefits on the skin especially acne and eczema. Along with that, it also has anti-aging properties.
This cream has a white silky texture and absorbs into the skin quickly. Thankfully it doesn’t feel oily on the skin. I tried and couldn’t help to notice the difference it made on my skin on the first application. Good thing was that it didn’t break me out.
The actual price of the full size pot that has 50 grams of product is INR 1950.
I have to be honest about this one. I was keeping an eye on their sun protection considering how this product was promoted through various social media channels.
The great thing about this sunscreen is that it is extremely light on the skin. I have always used heavy duty sunscreens which were suggested by my dermatologist. But quite frankly I am happy to switch mine with this one.
The ingredients are – zinc oxide, glycerine, shea butter, bees wax and xanthum gum. Zinc oxide is the best known ingredient that blocks UVB and UVA rays. I seriously prefer sunscreen with this ingredient in it as it forms a shield on the skin and starts working immediately unlike other chemicals used in sun protection.
The texture of this sunscreen is very light and white in color. I was surprised the way it got absorbed into the skin without leaving an oily feeling. Big thumbs up for that!!
Another great thing about this product is the fragrance. I really liked it. I honestly didn’t expect after using so many products from Kama Ayurveda that their sun protection will have a good fragrance.
The downside of this sunscreen is that it comes with an SPF of 21 only. With Indian climate and heat, I believe they should make product that has a higher SPF.
Since this was a tester that had 8 gram of product, I certainly would have to purchase full size if I wish to add that in my essentials. Their full size tube of 60 gram product is priced at INR 1350.
I have not seen extra virgin coconut oil from any other brand. Most of the brands sell virgin coconut oil and I am not sure what is the major difference between these two.
I ordered this sample because I love coconut oil. The best ones to put in your DIY creams are the extra virgin coconut oils instead of the refined ones. As I tried from other brands and liked and disliked few, I decided to pick what Kama Ayurveda had to offer.
There is nothing fancy I can describe about this oil. It smells like coconut and is hydrating like coconut oil. The best thing about the coconut oil is that few drops a enough to moisturize the skin.
I am sure you all must be familiar by now about the benefits of this oil. Coconut oil can be used for external as well as internal purposes. You can cook with it and apply it on your hair and skin as well.
Honestly, I have seen numerous DIY recipes that use coconut oil as one of their ingredient. It is extremely rich in Lauric acid and Vitamin E.
Another great thing about this oil is that it doesn’t clog pores. This means that even acne prone and oily sin people can use this oil on their skin.
The full size bottle of extra virgin coconut oil has 200ml of product that is priced at INR 595.
